Today is the day! My flight leaves at 7:40 pm from Ottawa and I'll arrive in Vienna at noon tomorrow, with a quick layover in Frankfurt, which is cool because I've never been to Germany. My bag is packed, and weighs a reasonable 27 lbs. I sewed on the Canadian flag last night so hopefully people will think I'm friendly and want to talk to me.
I'm a bit nervous, but I'm meeting Ali at the clocktower of Vienna city hall (or 'Rathaus') at 2 in the afternoon (assuming everything goes according to plan), and thinking of a familiar face in a foreign land is doing wonders to ease my nerves. Wish me luck!
